Anderson Times Ed.1

                        Announcement

The Anderson Times from this point on will be organized by edition. The Edition will be mentioned in the title.

          Back to School- Sort Of

It's the end of July, and the kids have a new thing to think about- school. They don't really want to think about it, but they must. They already made their supply trip. The boys tried on uniforms.

Now you may notice that only the boys tried on uniforms. So this leads you to think that we have made a typo, because there is a girl, isn't there? Yes, there is a girl. No it is not a typo. How do we know? Only the boys need uniforms.

The girl, Catherine, age 11, who will be entering 6th grade,no longer attends St. John Vianney Regional School. Catherine will not be going back to SJV in the fall. She will be going to Springhouse Middle School. Yes, she switched schools.

This is why she doesn't need a uniform. If you hadn't figured it out yet, SMS is a public school. Public schools don't require uniforms.

As some of you may know, it is a tradition to dress nicely for the first day of school. We asked Catherine what she'll be wearing for the first day she said " I'll show you a picture in the fall. For now, suspense shall rule the land." Well, suspense truly does rule the land. We are all left to wonder What will she wear?

           Summer Fun

As for now, it's summer. Let us take a peak at the day -to-day summer routine of each kid.

Catherine wakes up at nine with some serious bed head  and when we say serious, we mean serious. Then she eats breakfast, brushes her hair and teeth, and avoids chores. Depending on the weather they may visit the pool.

Stephen wakes up at seven and eats. He brushes his teeth and does his chores.

David wakes up at seven and brushes his teeth. he arts and does his chores.

Joshua wakes up anywhere from seven to nine. His routine is the same as his brothers.

Every Tuesday and Thursday they have a babysitter for the day. They always have loads of fun with her.

                         Somebody's Getting Gotten Married!

You heard me right. Somebody's gotten married! Who is that somebody? Uncle Tom Anderson! So now the Anderson kids have a new aunt- Introducing, for the first time, Aunt Molly Anderson! So with that said, we asked the kids for a detailed play-by-play description of the hours leading up to the wedding, the ceremony, and the reception.

First came the car ride. According to the kids, it was about an hour long. They got there super early, because their father- Dad Anderson- was a groomsmen. When they got there they plopped everything in the groom's room. This included: snacks for later, a bag of activities, and some movies.

So they set up camp, but something happened. The groomsmen, best man, and the groom himself, needed the room to get changed in. So they went out to the museum part and looked around while this happened.

After the grooms crew was changed they moved back in. Next came the first movie- Spiderman! The boys watched that. During the movie came some very important people. Grandmom and Grandpop Anderson came! They were closely followed by Aunt Anna, Uncle Dave, and their baby cousin Ellis! Grandpop showed Catherine around, as she was not interested in Spiderman. He showed some of the historic stuff that was kept at the Foundry. Ten she went back to Spiderman.

After that Ellis got changed into her dress, which matched Catherine's! The two took pictures together. Then Spiderman got too bloody for Catherine, so she went outside and walked around. Next two more very important people came- Gram and Pop Monte! She went back inside with them, but Spiderman was no longer on. So they sort of just ant in and out.

So after an hour or so, everyone was seated. Catherine sat next to her Aunt Anna, who was next to Uncle Dave, who had Ellis. She wanted to be close to her matching partner, But Ellis left before the ceremony started. Then entered all the important people. Nothing really exciting happened then. The part that kept Catherine awake was her aunt, who told her everything hat was going on. She also made a few comments.

The ceremony ended and the reception started. They snacked for a bit. Then everyone was called to watch Uncle Tom and Aunt Molly dance. Than there was dinner. They ate. Just before dinner, the kids discovered a photo booth!  Some pretty funky pics were taken in there.

They ate in peace. Then they went outside for a bit. Afterwards they had to watch Aunt Molly and her  dad dance, and then they watched Uncle Tom and Grandmom dance. Afterwards they went photo booting and then the dance floor opened! The three boys went in the groom's room to watch Frozen. Catherine even got her dad to dance! This was pretty hard to do.  After that she joined a group of ladies and danced. Aunt Anna taught her some, and then she was in business. She even got told she was a good dancer.

Catherine played with Ellis a bit- as it turns out Ellis crawls really fast! She then danced some more. Then, all at once, they were saying goodbye. And they were off.

They did not get into bed until midnight!

                           David at the Pool

David Anderson age 8 is built for the pool. He was kind enough to interview with us about it.
His favorite thing is the diving board. A close second: the slide. When asked why he enjoys these things he simply answers "They're fun." He claims to be a good swimmer, but you have to be to slide down the slide and diving board. The plunge area is 11ft for both items!

He does not play pool games. Although this may be silly to mention, as he spends a lot of time on his favorite things, the slide and diving board. This means nobody plays the pool games with him. He does not play with pool toys very often, another silly fact to mentions.

Overall, David likes the pool. It is a good place for one to spend one's time. When asked what he thinks of the pool, he says "It's good."

David comes out of slide in background.
