 Tie-Die

For her birthday Aunt Anna sent Catherine Anderson a tie-dying kit. She used it (with adult supervision and help) on July 18,2013.

Catherine died : 3 onesies,1 sheet, 2 pillowcases, 3 boys' shirts, 1 girl's shirt, and 1 sheet. This was a lot of fun. The final thing to do was to untie, rinse, and wash the items.

"The best part," Catherine said,"was to untie everything and unfold it. Then we saw the outcome of everything, and it was amazing. Her brothers certainly agreed. as everything was undone you could hear shouts of "Wow!" and "Cool!" And  they were very truthful.

Catherine Breaks Her Arm

On Saturday, April 20, 2013 Catherine took a trip to the Emergency Room. Around 1:20pm she was fine. She was playing outside with her brothers, which seems like a harmless situation and it was for a while. They were taking turns on the monkey bars. The rest is in Catherine's own words:
"I was playing outside with my brothers when it was my turn on the monkey bars I had no idea what was about to happen. I think I was on the third bar and something went wrong. Every other time when I had fallen I had landed on my feet. But this time I landed on my arm."
For three hours it was fine, but sore. After that it started swelling really bad. Everybody knows what happens next. She went to the hospital. Got x-rays and found that her arm was broken. Now she has a green cast that will stay on for three weeks.

Water Stop at St. Luke's 1/2 Marathon

On Sunday, April 28, 2013 the Andersons went to volunteer at St. Luke's 1/2 Marathon to work a water stop. The water stop was located at the 2 and 11 mile mark in the course. Both water and gatorade were offered to more than 4,000 runners.

According to Catherine they arrived at their post "too early in the morning" at around 7:00 am to begin setting up for the race, which would start a little after 8:00 am. Their first job was to fill hundreds of cups of water and gatorade to be given to the runners as they passed by.

Two people they knew would be running in the 1/2 marathon. One of them is a teacher at their school the other is their cross country coach.

They had lots of fun cheering on the runners and passing out drinks. They even got a little wet when some runners dropped cups near them. Catherine even got a face full of gatorade!

Duct Tape Wallet Mania!

On Saturday, March 23, 2013, there were many people receiving duct-tape wallets. Catherine Anderson, age 9.5 has lots of duct tape, and on Saturday she put it to good use. she made 7 duct tape wallets. One for each of the following people: Mom Anderson, David Anderson, Josh Anderson Stephen Anderson, Catherine Anderson, Gram Monte, and Aunt Karen Monte. Everyone seemed to want one. Gram and Aunt Karen will discover theirs on Easter Sunday. Catherine actually thought about making this a business. If each wallet were a quarter, she would be rich.

April Fools

On April 1, people all over the world celebrate April Fools Day. In 2 or 3 days we will celebrate it. If we know the Anderson children, they have some major tricks up their sleeves. Of course some of these tricks could land them in big trouble.

Dad's Favorite Game

I recently interviewed Dad Anderson about his favorite game, Risk. He likes this game because it requires thinking. Dad has not played this game in 20 years. This is because his wife doesn't like it. Even though he hasn't played it in a long time, he recalls playing with Aunt Anna. He says he normally won. His favorite part is winning.

Easter Vacation

For Catherine, David Josh, and Stephen Anderson, Easter vacation started on Wednesday, March 27, 2013. That day was spent in excitement for the 4 children. Probably not for Dad Anderson. During that day the 4 children played hide and seek, Wii or computer, a game of what they call Mix-Up, and so much more. Mix-Up is where they take all the TV shows, movies, and video games they know and mix them all up. Then they add their own little twists, like made up people and pets, and add them. Then they play.

 David's Favorite Game

I recently interviewed David Anderson about his favorite game, Skylanders. He likes it because it is fun and cool. His favorite part is the chapters. His favorite character is Trigger-Happy, because he can shoot like crazy.

Gram Turns 61

On Friday, March 22, 2013 Gram Monte turned 61 years old. She is especially happy on this  day because her grandkids (Catherine, age 9.5, Stephen, age 7.5, David and Joshua, both 6.5 years old) remembered by calling her. Every year she gets a call from her much loved grandkids. At least David and Catherine made her a one-of-a-kind card. That is one thing this lively bunch loves to do. Gram live in South Jersey with her husband, Pop Monte, and her daughter, Aunt Karen Monte. Gram was born on March 22, 1952. She has many brothers and sisters, 5 grandkids, 5 kids, and 1 husband. She also has much love. She works as a librarian, and she loves it. Gram will have a great year.
