Anderson Times Ed.1

                        Announcement

The Anderson Times from this point on will be organized by edition. The Edition will be mentioned in the title.

          Back to School- Sort Of

It's the end of July, and the kids have a new thing to think about- school. They don't really want to think about it, but they must. They already made their supply trip. The boys tried on uniforms.

Now you may notice that only the boys tried on uniforms. So this leads you to think that we have made a typo, because there is a girl, isn't there? Yes, there is a girl. No it is not a typo. How do we know? Only the boys need uniforms.

The girl, Catherine, age 11, who will be entering 6th grade,no longer attends St. John Vianney Regional School. Catherine will not be going back to SJV in the fall. She will be going to Springhouse Middle School. Yes, she switched schools.

This is why she doesn't need a uniform. If you hadn't figured it out yet, SMS is a public school. Public schools don't require uniforms.

As some of you may know, it is a tradition to dress nicely for the first day of school. We asked Catherine what she'll be wearing for the first day she said " I'll show you a picture in the fall. For now, suspense shall rule the land." Well, suspense truly does rule the land. We are all left to wonder What will she wear?

           Summer Fun

As for now, it's summer. Let us take a peak at the day -to-day summer routine of each kid.

Catherine wakes up at nine with some serious bed head  and when we say serious, we mean serious. Then she eats breakfast, brushes her hair and teeth, and avoids chores. Depending on the weather they may visit the pool.

Stephen wakes up at seven and eats. He brushes his teeth and does his chores.

David wakes up at seven and brushes his teeth. he arts and does his chores.

Joshua wakes up anywhere from seven to nine. His routine is the same as his brothers.

Every Tuesday and Thursday they have a babysitter for the day. They always have loads of fun with her.

                         Somebody's Getting Gotten Married!

You heard me right. Somebody's gotten married! Who is that somebody? Uncle Tom Anderson! So now the Anderson kids have a new aunt- Introducing, for the first time, Aunt Molly Anderson! So with that said, we asked the kids for a detailed play-by-play description of the hours leading up to the wedding, the ceremony, and the reception.

First came the car ride. According to the kids, it was about an hour long. They got there super early, because their father- Dad Anderson- was a groomsmen. When they got there they plopped everything in the groom's room. This included: snacks for later, a bag of activities, and some movies.

So they set up camp, but something happened. The groomsmen, best man, and the groom himself, needed the room to get changed in. So they went out to the museum part and looked around while this happened.

After the grooms crew was changed they moved back in. Next came the first movie- Spiderman! The boys watched that. During the movie came some very important people. Grandmom and Grandpop Anderson came! They were closely followed by Aunt Anna, Uncle Dave, and their baby cousin Ellis! Grandpop showed Catherine around, as she was not interested in Spiderman. He showed some of the historic stuff that was kept at the Foundry. Ten she went back to Spiderman.

After that Ellis got changed into her dress, which matched Catherine's! The two took pictures together. Then Spiderman got too bloody for Catherine, so she went outside and walked around. Next two more very important people came- Gram and Pop Monte! She went back inside with them, but Spiderman was no longer on. So they sort of just ant in and out.

So after an hour or so, everyone was seated. Catherine sat next to her Aunt Anna, who was next to Uncle Dave, who had Ellis. She wanted to be close to her matching partner, But Ellis left before the ceremony started. Then entered all the important people. Nothing really exciting happened then. The part that kept Catherine awake was her aunt, who told her everything hat was going on. She also made a few comments.

The ceremony ended and the reception started. They snacked for a bit. Then everyone was called to watch Uncle Tom and Aunt Molly dance. Than there was dinner. They ate. Just before dinner, the kids discovered a photo booth!  Some pretty funky pics were taken in there.

They ate in peace. Then they went outside for a bit. Afterwards they had to watch Aunt Molly and her  dad dance, and then they watched Uncle Tom and Grandmom dance. Afterwards they went photo booting and then the dance floor opened! The three boys went in the groom's room to watch Frozen. Catherine even got her dad to dance! This was pretty hard to do.  After that she joined a group of ladies and danced. Aunt Anna taught her some, and then she was in business. She even got told she was a good dancer.

Catherine played with Ellis a bit- as it turns out Ellis crawls really fast! She then danced some more. Then, all at once, they were saying goodbye. And they were off.

They did not get into bed until midnight!

                           David at the Pool

David Anderson age 8 is built for the pool. He was kind enough to interview with us about it.
His favorite thing is the diving board. A close second: the slide. When asked why he enjoys these things he simply answers "They're fun." He claims to be a good swimmer, but you have to be to slide down the slide and diving board. The plunge area is 11ft for both items!

He does not play pool games. Although this may be silly to mention, as he spends a lot of time on his favorite things, the slide and diving board. This means nobody plays the pool games with him. He does not play with pool toys very often, another silly fact to mentions.

Overall, David likes the pool. It is a good place for one to spend one's time. When asked what he thinks of the pool, he says "It's good."

David comes out of slide in background.

                      Cat's Books

Her current find at the time of the interview was not one book, but five. She got the second collection of the Holly's Heart  books.
These books are about a fourteen year old girl. She lives in Dressel Hills, Colorado. In the book Good-Bye Dressel Hills, her uncle/ stepfather has expanded his company, and Holly is faced with a terrible predicament: She may have to say good by to the only home she has ever known.

This was all Catherine could remember at the time.

 Yes Book, No movie

Lately Catherine has been into the HungerGames books. She loves reading them. She tears through them like a shark. She loves them. She can never put them down. They're just to good. She doesn't mind reading about violence. Movies.... well not so much.

Catherine can not watch violence.  The sight of blood unnerves her. Her mom really wants her to watch them. Catherine tried. She couldn't get past the first  ten minutes. It creeped her out. She can't watch pain and suffering... witch is exactly what the Hunger Games are.

Twelve Foot Horned Ducks and Penguins and Invade Pennsylvanian Zoos

It all started a month ago, when zookeepers started creating mutations of animals; take the okapi for an example. There was two mutations going on in the same lab ( that will not be happening again any time soon), that of an elephant and a rhino, and that of a penguin and a duck. Surprisingly, neither mutation seemed to work out in one day, so they gave the animals a night's rest. The rhino and the duck ( one male, one female) were next door to each other.  The penguin and the elephant were next door to each other ( one male, one female).

The elephant charged through to the penguin; at the same time the rhino charged through to the duck. They mutated and escaped. They invaded zoos across the state and continued to mutate. They are violent creatures, and to be feared. Zookeepers have, hoverer, tamed and caged them. They are great fun to look at, too.

It's Easter... And That Means Baskets!!

As you can probably tell by this heading, it's Easter! While the Easter party has not yet come, lots of excitement has come to the Anderson house already. In the morning the children came downstairs to a table of goodies! Every person got a baker and a book. In each basket was tons of candy. They got two eggs filled with jelly beans each. Catherine got baseball cards; the boys got Skylanders cards. On the table was Wreck-It-Ralph for Disney Infinity. There were also three movies: Frozen; Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief; and The Croods.

                 Just Kidding! :)

The joke column today will contain three jokes.

  1. Q: Why shouldn't you tell eggs jokes?
      A: They might crack up!

  2.  Q: Why don't they let strawberries drive?
A: They're always getting into jams!

  3.   Nurse: There's a ghost outside. He says he has an appointment.
Docter: Tell him I can't see him right now.

  That's a Knee Slapper!

                      Amazing Fairy Tale Discovery!

Unfortunately, this newspaper has been out of news for quite some time. Even our best reporter couldn't seem to find anything. Then, quite recently,we found our breaking news.

Every child was told fairy tales growing up. They have been told legends of Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast,Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, e.t.c. They believe it, until they just find it cute. So at this point, you will be thinking how sweet this is. Where is the news?

One day, Catherine was looking for a book to read. ( If you have read this newspaper before, you'll know that she is an avid reader.)
As she scanned the shelves, she found an old looking red velvet journal. She read the neat, cursive handwriting. It had a table of contents. It read a little like this.

                   Table of Contents

 Part One: Sleeping Beauty..................p.1
    Chapter One: Princess...................p.2
    Chapter Two: Prince.....................p.16
Part Two: Beauty and The Beast.............p.30
    Chapter One:Beauty......................p.31
    Chapter Two: Beast......................p.43
 Part Three: Cinderella.....................p.53
    Chapter One: Cinderella.................p.54
    Chapter Two: Prince Charming............p.68
 Part Four: The Little Mermaid:.............p.77
    Chapter One: Ariel......................p.78
    Chapter Two:Prince Eric.................p.90

Catherine was quite amazed at what she saw. She had always loved The Little Mermaid, so she skipped to part four. The whole thing was handwritten. She learned that before the movie, Eric and Ariel had met. While only briefly, they fell in love and promised to meet again. Years passed and Eric had forgotten about her. The day that the boat was caught in a storm, he had seen her red hair, and he remembered that day.

Sleeping Beauty had actually only fallen asleep for one year. She had purposefully pricked her finger because she was tired of her parents being so overprotective and controlling. The prince had adored her all his life. Mary (This was her true name. Rose was her middle name.) absolutely hated Sauron.( The prince.)

Beauty hated her father all along. When she heard of a beast in a castle, she hightailed it out of there. The so called "beast" just turned out to be a man. He lacked a certain trait called hygiene, however. After ten years, Beauty improved him. Oliver (the "beast",)
was now very handsome and had learned to control his temper; as a result, Beauty married him.

Cinderella was very poor as she grew up in England. She came to America as an indentured servant. She worked for very kind people. She enjoyed. As princess, she became part of an arranged marriage. she loved Prince Charming, But as Cinderella was exceedingly ugly,Charming hated her. ( Cindy was very nice. Charming judged her by looks. Eventually he learned to love her)

Catherine was shocked. She knew we were looking for a story. She gave us the red velvet diary. We are so happy to know the truth about our princesses. In fact, merpeople are immortal. The journal says Arial and Eric became Mermaid and Merman and still live in the Dead Sea.
